DEFINITION
Surgical procedure by which the alveolar flange is remodeled with the hidroxiapatita laying. The hidroxiapatita is a dense material biocompatible with limited mechanical properties. It is named by quadrant because it usually do a hemiarcada in every meeting.
SYMPTOMS
The patient complains about mobility of his prosthesis for maladjustment of the same one. Sometimes the existence previous to an illness periodontal aggressive determines a big loss of alveolar bone that disables the suitable laying of one prosthesis. This loss can be also secondary to trauma or surgery.
SKILL
The surgical procedure must be realized of a way ruled after a precise indication based in a case history and a physical and radiological exploration adapted. The hidroxiapatita can be used by means of his laying with syringes, with which it is injected across a vertical incision into the maxillary or jaw halfway line. Also it can be used in the shape of blocks and joined to other materials heterólogos (collagen) or the proper bone of the patient.
COMPLICATIONS
The possible complications are: injury of anatomical structures (glasses, nerves, cavities), haematomas, edemas, neuralgias, hemorrhages, infections, formation of cicatriciales textiles or mucous tears, problems in the retention, relapse for bony resorption or of the material aloplástico.
