BASIC NORMS
Every sobrealimentación is harmful. There are harmful the worries, the scarcity of movement or an exhausting corporal activity. Any dietetic diet for the diabetes must be prescribed by the doctor.
In the feeding, the presence of products is very dangerous by means of carbohydrates (sugar and farinaceous substances). Instead of the sugar synthetic sweeteners (saccharine) can be used.
A defect in the caloric contribution is preferable to an excess, especially if the diabetic is obese.
WHAT IS PROHIBITED TO THE DIABETIC
Neither the sugar, pastries, tidbits, sweet meals, honey, jellies, jams, potatoes, flour, cream of wheat, sweet wine nor liquors. The special diet salt is recommended instead of the common salt.
HOW MUCH IS ALLOWED
Only there are allowed the quantities of carbohydrates determined by the doctor. In the meal there must be avoided the sauces, the flour and the greasy substances.
The nutritive substances are very beneficial with rich power vitamínico (B1 and C).
Instead of animal fat vegetable oil (olive oil) is recommended to cook - Mediterranean diet-.
STANDARD DIET
250 gm. of carbohydrates, 60 gm. of fat and 80 gm. of proteins.
What can be for example:
Carbohydrates: 200 gm. of white or integral bread; 200 gm. of cooked potato.
Proteins: 100 gm. of meat or 200 gm. of fish; 30 gm. of cheese and an egg.
Fats: 60 gm. of butter or of fat of vegetable origin.
DRINKS
They are allowed: the mineral water, coffee, tea, natural pure wine, dry champagne, beer of diet, cognac and whisky elaborate (the drier the better).
SMALL ADVICES
To eat every day salad, especially lettuce and fresh cucumbers, with vinegar and fresh vegetables. Other authorized food is the pumpkin, grapefruits, recent mushrooms, asparagus, tomatoes, green Jewish women, watercresses, leeks, cabbage, spinach and spinach beets.
