DEFINITION
The sharp prostatitis is the inflammation of the prostate gland, which appears of spontaneous form.

CAUSES
The sharp prostatitis often is produced by a bacterial infection of the prostate gland. The causative bacteria are the habitual ones in producing the same way an urinal infection (Escherichia coli, enterococos, aeruginosa Pseudomonkey and Staphilococus aureus, etc...)
Also it is possible to produce a prostatitis for some infections of sexual transmission, which they usually see in case of persons younger than 35 years, like the gonorrhea, clamidia, and tricomonas. In this case the infection belongs to both members of the couple.
On the other hand the biggest men the cause that one usually sees is the Escherichia coli.
In other occasions the prostatitis is secondary to traumatism produced by medical explorations (cateterismo or cistoscopia), for direct traumatism, or obstructive pictures of the urinal bladder or for litiasis renal.

SYMPTOMS
The initial symptoms of a sharp prostatitis are:
- Shakes with the fever
- Low abdominal discomfort
- Pain between the genitals and the year
- Intense heat on having urinated
- Reduction of the flow of urine and difficulty to urinate
- Pain on having ejaculated
- Pain on having defecated
- Blood in the urine
- Semen with blood
- It urinates with unpleasant smell.
DIAGNOSIS
To the physical exploration by means of a rectal tact it is possible to observe that the prostate can be inflamed, bigger than normally, warmly and sensitively to the tact.
Then the analytical one is realized of urine with the capture of several samples:
The first of the initial jet, Second of half of the jet, Third after a prostate massage realized by the doctor; in case of clear symptoms of sharp prostatitis it is possible to do without this third sample to avoid the dissemination of the infection.
The analysis of the urine and of the secretions of prostate red blood corpuscles and bacteria appear; then it is possible to realize a cultivation with antibiograma.
In the sharp prostatitis there are modified the values of the PSA and the seminograma.
TREATMENT
In the infectious sharp prostatitis antibiotics are used like the sulfamidas, the quinolonas or the tetraciclinas.
In young men with a prostatitis for sexually transmitted disease a dose of 250 is used mg of ceftriaxona continued by a series of 10 days of doxiciclina or ofloxacino. For other bacterial causes the treatment is usually the sulfamidas or the quinolonas for 4 weeks.
They usually recommend some restrictions in the diet to avoid the food that irritate the bladder, like alcohol, the coffee, the citrus fruits and the strong spices. In addition to stimulating in drinking water in quantity for a few days.
