DEFINITION AND EPIDEMIOLOGY
At present it is the most frequent micosis. It is extremely contagious, of chronic course with irregular sprouts and variable, sometimes very intense itch. Fond of the inter creases / subdigitalises, plants and, sometimes, to the back of the feet. Even it is habitual to verify injuries over a distance.
Almost always it owes to itself to fungi antropofílicos (that affect human beings), like the Ringworm rubrum, the mentagrophytes Ringworm and Epidermofitos floccosum that can act of combined, competing and consecutive form producing the contagion to him almost always of indirect form, especially from the soil of showers and public swimming pools, towels, carpeting of hotels, etc., or by means of the use of the same socks and worn by several persons.
It explains the big facility with which relapses and/or reinfections happen, even after well realized treatments, and which the incidence should be major in young people. Also the risk increases the (hiperhidrosis) moisture and maceration because of the employment of socks and of small footwear or not permeable at all as it usually happens in soldiers, farmers, miners, etc.
CLINIC
The tinea you ask that it expresses itself principally of three different forms: intertriginosa (in creases), it dries and queratósica and dishidrosiforme, that can coexist, happen and on becoming infected for coconuts piógenos, corinebacterias and microorganisms negative Gram. Except when the responsible agent is E. floccosum, the participation ungueal (of the fingernails) is very rare.
TINEA YOU ASK FOR INTERTRIGINOSA
Fond of the interdigital commissures and creases of push-up where from the beginning the maceration causes a whitish aspect of the skin and bad smell. Soon very painful fissures develop and, to the sides, badges eccematosas, descamativas, pruriginosas (that sting) or painful that sometimes spread to the fleshy parts, previous area of the plant and back of the foot.
TINEA YOU ASK FOR DRY SEASON AND QUERATÓSICA
It is usually bilateral and quite symmetrical in arches you will plant and embroider where, for confluence of small red areas and with descamación extensive badges form with small vesicles and with a scaly collarete that causes itch of variable intensity. If the infection owes to the Ringworm rubrum (specific mushroom) it is habitual that happens a hiperqueratosis (hard areas) "in sandal", very painful deep fissures, alterations ungueales (in the fingernails) you specify and, also, that inform the plants.
TINEA YOU ASK FOR DISHIDROSIFORME
It usually affects to the vault to plant, side surfaces and fleshy parts of the fingers, where it is characterized by red badges, with itch or burning, full of blisters set in the skin which content at first is a clear liquid and later purulent. When they dry off they cause crusts adherents and if they break for the rubbing or scratched they turn out to be hurt humid with descamación. Then injuries are added intertriginosas (in the creases) and the inflammation and the sobreinfección can be so intense that they make the march difficult.
These injuries can appear also in the hands.
EVOLUTION
The tinea you ask that it evolves with exasperating cronicidad, alternating almost asymptomatic periods with more intense others and very sharp aggravations in spring - summer that, sometimes, go so far as to be very difficult the normal life and prevent the practice of any sport and even the possibility of walking.
PREVENTION
Before any dermatologic process in the feet, come to his doctor in order that this one establishes the diagnosis and suitable treatment. Nevertheless it is important to observe a series of hygienic measurements that should avoid in possible the contagion of one of these forms of micosis:
- Daily and deep hygiene of the feet.
- To try not to use footwear or socks of other persons.
- To change the type of footwear and socks all the times are necessary, to avoid the moisture that favors the development of this fungi.
- Employment of local antiperspirants to control the excessive sudoración.
- To use bath sneakers when we come to wardrobes of public places and to avoid to use towels of other persons.
