Panoramic radiography that shows the totality of the oral structures and that so called ortopantomógrafo realizes in a specific device. This skill allows the simultaneous and comparative study of both joints, the ascending branches and the totality of the arcades alveolodentales.

The ortopantomografía is indicated in a big situations quantity in oral pathology and maxilofacial. It is a diagnostic tool of the first order.

It is realized by the ortopantomógrafo placing appropriately the patient, fitting the size of every patient.

COMPLICATIONS

The radiation that is received in an ortopantomografía is minimal. Nevertheless, they must only be realized when an indication exists on the part of the professional. The barrier use is recommended in the pregnant women and in the children.
