DEFINITION

Vaccine combined to protect the individuals against the measles, the German measles and the parotiditis (mumps).

GENERAL INFORMATION

Although one has developed antigens únicoú for every component of the triple viral, they are not easily available and are used only for very specific situations. CALENDAR OF VACCINATION

Associated with the measles

In rare cases, the children of up to 6 years or more that receive the vaccine can have convulsions. This develops in 2 weeks after the injection and collaborates normally with high fever. Very rarely there can appear a short-term cerebral inflammation, which is solved completely. These adverse neurological effects appear with a frequency of a case for a million administrated vaccines.

The death risk after receiving the triple viral, is the same than with any other medicine.

The potential benefits of receiving the viral vaccine of the triple, it exceeds the possible adverse effects. The measles, the mumps, and very serious illnesses are the German measles and they can have complications with incapability results and even death.

The incidence of such complications is much worse than the possible adverse effects of the vaccine.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

• Illness more serious than a simple cold (for example, fever)
• Most of the experts agree that the children with a history of previous convulsions must receive the vaccine. SYMPTOMS AND CARE AFTER THE IMMUNIZATION

To observe and to treat the symptoms that could turn out to be such how the fever, pains will be articulated by you, inflammation of the ganglions, reddenings in the place of the injection etc. If an eruption develops, without other symptoms, it is not a necessary treatment and it must be solved in a few days.
