DESCRIPTION

The cuts, scratches or minor wounds usually do not need attention in Urgencies. It is essential, nevertheless, to treat appropriately the infection or other complications of the same ones. Next there are indicated a few steps to be continued in the control of minor wounds.

1. To stop the hemorrhage. (Hydrogen peroxide) is done applying pressure with a dressing dry or soaked in some product hemostático.
2. If the bled one is persistent and continues after several minutes of exercising pressure on the area, looking immediately for urgent care.
3. To support the wound cleans. To wash the area of the wound with water and soap, removing any dirt of the rims of the wound. Also it is possible to apply a local antiseptic solution. Next the wound must be covered with a protective bandage unless the cut is in the face, in whose case is left to the air with a simple layer of antiseptic.

A wound can need points to join the rims of the same one and for the correct healing. Sometimes the use of stitches can be avoided with a strip or two of surgical adhesive tape (Steri - strips ®).

SIGNS OF DANGER

If the wound turns out to be inflamed, that is to say, tumefacta and turned red, or if it leaks pus or other liquids, consult with his doctor, since there can exist an infection that needs additional treatment.
