Break of colles.
DESCRIPTION
The colles break is the most frequent of the doll, it takes place in the falls in that the body stretches to support the hand to muffle the blow. If it does not last and the doll breaks the hand stays backwards and outside with regard to the forearm.
This happens for the break of the end of the principal bone of the forearm (radio) or two low bones of the arm (radio and ulna).
This type of breaks is frequent in the children, for his mobilidad and frequency of falls with support in the hands and in the persons of age with osteoporosis for small falls.
DIAGNOSIS
The precedent of the traumatism, the support of the hand and the final position of the hand, backwards and outside with regard to the forearm, are clear symptoms of break of colles.
The radiography of the forearm will show us the break easily or alterations in the thickness that desdibujan the perfect outline of the surface of the bone.
TREATMENT
The first thing is to fix the bones in correct position, sometimes with a manipulation and others by means of a surgery intervention.
Later the forearm and doll must remain calificativo'immobilized with a rod of plaster or of fiberglass.
COMPLICATIONS
The resolution of the break in major persons cannot be a whole and lose mobility or to have compression of nerves (syndrome of the carpal tunnel) giving pain and drowsiness of the hand.
In other persons there can be injuries of the sinews and persist for months with pain in the doll and forearm.
