DEFINITION
The espondilitis deformante is a frequent complaint of the spine, which can cause intense pains, normally from 40 years.
DIAGNOSIS
ANAMNESIS
- The familiar presentation is not rare.
- Succession of long periods of absence of pain with periods of intense pain.
- The pain appears often in the rest of the spine, as well as in the night and in the morning, although also it has relation with certain positions and corporal positions.
- Pain to the rotation in the cervical region (axial draft of the spine).
- Pain radiated to the musculature of the shoulder and of the nape.
- Pain in the field of the corresponding areas inervadas for the brachial plexus (for affectation of the roots): parestesias, hipoestesias, weakness, atrophy.
EXPLORATION
- Pain in the rotation and in the percussion of the cervical spine.
- Contractions of the musculature of the nape and the shoulder.
- Radiological finds (captures of the cervical spine in 4 projections: anteroposterior, side street and two oblique ones)
- Pinzamiento of the line feed to articulate.
- Sclerosis of the intervertebral saucers (bodies of Schmorl).
- Osteofitos and intervertebral bridges.
- Empequeñecimiento and distortion of the hole of conjunction: alteration of the nervous roots.
