DEFINITION

INDICATIONS

PREVIOUS PREPARATION

METHOD OF THE SKILL

The study can last approximately 20 minutes or something more if the capture of biopsy is realized. Damage does not take place, only, a little on having taken the biopsy and the patient can go out for his own foot and go away to house without problems.

RISKS OF THE SKILL

There are no adverse effects known in the ultrasound scan transrectal of the prostate.
It is necessary to avoid this exploration in patients with intestinal recent surgeries, in recent intestinal explorations with barium.
