DEFINITION
The dislocation is the displacement of the bones of any part of the body, being his normal place in the joint.
CAUSES
When the normal movement of a joint is forced the bones that are in her can be disconnected or be dislocated. To go out of the joint there takes place a break of the capsule of the joint and tear of the ligaments and, often, injuries in the surrounding nerves. Most of the dislocations take place for a traumatism, a fall ó for convulsions.
SYMPTOMS
When a dislocation takes place it appears:
- A joint clearly out of place, with the area to articulate deformed.
- Limitation in the movement.
- Distension and intense pain.
- Bruises or blows.
- Pain on having supported weight.
TREATMENT. GENERAL MEASUREMENTS
- It is not necessary to move the affected one unless the disabled area is completely calificativo'immobilized.
- It is not necessary to move persons with possible injury in the hip, pelvis or thighs, unless it is absolutely necessary.
- If the mobilization is realized it is necessary to use the skill of "dragging for the clothes".
- It is not necessary to try to align a bone or a joint deformed or to change his position.
- To give to the victim neither any food nor liquid, since an anesthesia can be necessary for the reduction of the problem.
- To look for medical care, to treat appropriately the problem (Reduction).
The recovery of the surrounding ligaments of a dislocated joint takes between 3 and 6 weeks.
