DEFINITION
The chalación is a nodular inflammation of small size that takes place in the eyelid produced by the blockade of a small oil gland of the same one. It is a cyst of greasy retention that normally is not infected that develops inside the Meibomio glands. These glands produce oils for the formation of the superficial movie of the tears that lubricate the eyes.
If the obstruction liberates the chalación it can disappear for itself.
SYMPTOMS
- Nodule in the eyelid.
- Sensibility in the eyelid.
- Sometimes there is pain in the eyelid.
- Lagrimeo and inconveniences with the light.
DIAGNOSIS
The presence of a nodule quístico in the eyelid with sensibility increase suggests the chalación diagnosis. The habitual thing is that it is a mechanical obstruction but if it is repetitive it owes of biopsiar for the possible presence of a leather cancer like cause of the obstruction.
TREATMENT
Sometimes with home-made treatment the chalación one can treat to base the application of warm compresses during 15 minutes 3 to 4 times a day. Sometimes with this method the fat stopper can dissolve and the gland be liberated eliminating the cyst or chalación.
In other occasions without concrete cause it disappears only to its own evolution.
If it does not yield for these methods it is possible to realize an eradication with surgery under local anesthesia. It applies a tweezer to itself to isolate the cyst and a drainage is realized with scalpel in the interior part of the eyelid.
In any of the cases the same chalación must not reappear, but there are persons who usually have tendency to have them.
