 TUMOR SCOREBOARD
The tumor scoreboards are those substances that can decide for analytical methods and have a causal connection or of probability with diverse types of cancer.
They are detected by analytical methods and serve for the detection, diagnosis and prognosis of some neoplasias. Similar to the antigen CA 15-3, the CA 27-29 meets in the blood of most of the patients breast cancer.
UTILITY OF THE TUMOR SCOREBOARDS
The levels of the CA 27-29 are used together with other procedures, like the mamografías and levels of other tumor scoreboards, to control the possible relapse in the women with breast cancer in stages previously treated II and III.
The levels of the CA 27-29 also can be raised in the cancer of colon, stomach, kidney, lung, ovary, pancreas, womb and liver.
It can give values raised unspecially in the first trimester of the pregnancy, in the endometriosis, in the ovarian cysts, in some benign illness of the breast, in illnesses of the kidney and of the liver by not cancerous problems.
