DEFINITION
There are products that neutralize the hydrochloric acid for chemical reaction in the stomach.
They are of two types:
NOT SYSTEMIC
On having reacted with the hydrochloric acid, they form a salt that is not absorbed. Slower and long action, in general without effect bounce.
The salt of aluminum and calcium produce constipation, and the magnesium salt is laxative. As most of the prepared ones are miscellanies of salt of aluminum and magnesium his effect on the motilidad is unforeseeable.

SYSTEMIC
On having reacted with the hydrochloric acid, a part is absorbed and can produce effects in the body. They are usually of rapid effect but with rebound effect.
SIDE EFFECTS
The sódico Bicarbonate and calcic carbonate can produce general effects and kidneys affectation.
The aluminum salt (except the phosphate) can cause loss of phosphate.
