SYMPTOMS
When these symptoms appear, some or all and are related with sunny days, with wind and deteriorate on having gone out to the street or to the field we can deduce that a person is sufrinedo of an allergy to the pollen.
The allergy is called to the pollen also polinosis or hay fever. The symptom they appear on having contacted the mucous membranes with the pólenes of the anemophilous plants (that they pollinate for the wind).
So that a person is allergic to the pollen debit of having an immune answer of antibodies IgE in his blood and in the surface of the cells efectoras (mastocitos and basófilos). These cells with the IgE in his surface are circulating along the blood or in the structure of the mucous membranes (conjunctive, mucous nasal, bronchial mucous membrane, etc...). To the contact with the pólenes of the air the IgE they form a few bridges that destroy the membrane of the cells efectoras being liberated diverse mediators. The principal one is the histamine (similar to the mediator that the hortigas produce), this one produces itch and exit of liquids of the blood glasses to the mucous membranes and for it the distension of the same ones takes place.
The persons who produce IgE against the pólenes are a special group that in general one calls them atópicos. It is usually a familiar tendency and for it it is frequent to find in the families several members with equal symptoms.
The pólenes that more give allergy are those of the vulgar grasses (Gramíneas), which in Spain bloom from late April until July. The month of more intensity is a May. In these epochs in the South of Spain the olive tree pollen can produce also allergy. The most anticipated allergy (of February and March) owes to pólenes of trees (pines, birches, bananas, etc...). If the symptoms are more persistent it can be because of the pollen of Parietaria because of which it blooms until October inclusive, this pollen happens more on the Mediterranean coast and in the Cantabrian one.
The allergy to the pollen is more frequent in young persons, it appears in the adolescence, and tends to improve from 50 years. Something it is necessary to do.
