DEFINITION
The aphasia is a disorder or loss of the verbal language in his aspects of expression and or comprehension like result of a cerebral injury in the left hemisphere in the areas of coordination of the language and that takes place after the language has been developed and integrated. To be able to speak about aphasia the following premises will have to happen: to have the oral language acquired, to have an injury in the areas of the language and to show an alteration of the language in the expression or in the reception.
TYPES OF APHASIA
There are two basic types of aphasia: the expressive one (of Drill) and the receptive one (of Wernicke).
- On the part of the Drill aphasia, we can say that it is evident in a deficit in the expression of the oral language, in not fluid and slow verbal production, in the reduction of the vocabulary and syntax (short and telegraphic phrases), and the use of verbal estereotipias; also, the comprehension of the language is relatively preserved (it can show difficulties before complex spoken messages); and also the affectation of the lecto happens - it registers as for expression.
- On the part of the Wernicke aphasia, we can say that it is a question of a disorder basically of the comprehension, although also in the expression of the verbal language (on not having understood what he says himself, he raves) does not understand the verbal language (words = unrecognizable noise) there happens also the jergafasia, which is the fluid and abundant verbal expression, although lacking in sense (neologisms and parafasias). Also joint difficulties exist, anomia, shaken reading and writing, and the person does not realize his disability, both at expressive and receptive level.
FACTORS ETIOLÓGICOS
As for the factors etiológicos of the aphasia, the cause is any for which the subject suffers an injury in the field of Drill or in the Wernicke, as it can be an accident brain - vascular, a cerebral tumor, a traumatism craneoencefálico, etc...)
EDUCATIONAL NEEDS
As for the special educational needs of the persons with aphasia, the principal thing is to make possible the development of functional levels of expression and of comprehension.
